What type of person generally makes a good board member?
1. Professional in nature and dedicated to the Association
2. Willingness to carry his/her fair share of the work
3. Willingness to attend all meetings and work sessions
4. Consistently meets deadlines
The criteria to become a board member of the TSHA are:
1. Must be a member of TSHA for one full year
2. Must commit to serving a three (3) year term
3. Must be willing to make contributions to The Brief
4. Must desire to actively participate
Obligations or duties while serving on the Board:
1. Serve three years
2. Provide the officers with guidance and direction
3. Disseminate information to professionals in the field
4. Attend board meetings*
5. Recruitment of new members
6. Contribute articles to the brief
7. Chair or serve on a committee for conference planning as needed**
8. Assist in implementing the annual conference
*The TSHA board meets prior to the opening general session of the conference and then for four hours on the Sunday after the conference. It also meets for a 5-6 hour planning session in the summer.
**TSHA has an Executive Director who provides administrative support to all the board members/officers and also assists with the conference planning activities.
